About The New Plough Inn
Built in 1900, The New Plough Inn has a rich history that stretches back over a century. Since its establishment, the pub has been a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere, great company, and a wide selection of real ales.
Our Proud Legacy of Landlords:
Over the years, The New Plough Inn has been under the care of dedicated and passionate landlords. Each contributing to its unique character. Louise and Darren are the 5th ever landlords of the pub, taking the reins in 2008 and continuing the tradition of excellence that began with the original Wolloff sisters.
Before Louise and Darren’s tenure, the pub was skilfully managed by Tom and Mary Swain, who held the position of landlords from 1989 to 2008. The baton was then passed to Mick and Maggie Duckworth, who lovingly served the community from 1975 to 1989. Prior to them, Ruth and Mack were at the helm until 1975, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
A Place of Transformation:
Throughout its history, The New Plough Inn has witnessed transformations that have enhanced its appeal and offerings to patrons. Under the thoughtful management of Louise and Darren, the pub has seen several significant improvements.
In November 2009, they extended the games room, providing ample space for entertainment and socializing. In January 2010, the duo converted stables into a charming function room, accommodating various events and celebrations. The addition of the function room further solidified The New Plough Inn’s reputation as a go-to venue for special occasions.
In 2022, log burners were thoughtfully fitted, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance that adds to the pub’s traditional charm. This upgrade enhances the overall experience, making it an even more enjoyable place to gather with friends and family.
A Home for the Community
The New Plough Inn takes great pride in its role as a traditional 100% wet led community pub. The focus on real ales and a friendly atmosphere makes it a favourite destination for locals and ale enthusiasts. Since January 2009, the pub has been hosting monthly charity quizzes, demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the community and supporting worthy causes.
The pub also proudly sponsors the HRFC (Hinckley Rugby Football Club) and Hinckley Cricket Club, nurturing the spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement.

The pub has been honoured with the prestigious Pub of the Year award in 2011, 2012, 2022, and 2023, further cementing its status as a top destination for real ale enthusiasts.
